MONROVIA – Clinilab Medical and Diagnostic Center (CMDC), and partner B-Kay Pharmacy, as part of their support to enhance the working of the Liberia Medical and Dental Council on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, made a donation to the new leadership, led by Dr. Benetta C. Andrews.
Clinilab Medical and Diagnostic Center, which started as a laboratory on Randal Street, later upgraded its services, considering the influence and demand of those who use its services. According to William E.A. Ekerum, an administrator thought it wise to consider the requests of their clients, which were in line with their goal to provide accessible healthcare services, and that it was important to move to a bigger skill set running OPD services, which they operated for a year and, as time passed, have moved to IPD services.
“Three days ago I got a call from my managers who are on vacation; they thought it wise that it wouldn’t be good to keep postponing our
congratulations to the new sitting hierarchy of the LMDC”, Williams said.
On behalf of the Clinilab Medical and Diagnostic Center, Williams extends thanks to the Liberia Medical and Dental Council (LMDC) for the collaboration and supervision that today qualified them as a health center. He stressed that it’s a great step we are taking because we have a bigger goal, which is to make health very accessible.
He continues, To the members of the Liberia Medical and Dental Council, it’s our utmost pleasure to represent CliniLab and B-Kay Pharmacy, which is our partner. We have come to congratulate the new hierarchy of LMDC, and as a new health facility, CMDC, we dream big. We know we cannot meet our goal all by ourselves without the support of LMDC. We are grateful, and we hope to work collaboratively and collectively with understanding to make health service delivery in Liberia a priority.
Williams extends compliments to Dr. Benetta C. Andrews and your team on behalf of his preparators and managers, Hiba Khoury, the CEO, and John Moussa, Operation Manager at CMDC, and partner Mr. Sanjay of B-kay Pharmacy. They are glad to present to you these items (printers and a flat-screen TV) for the purpose for which we hope they will be beneficial for those who use them.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the LMDC, Dr. Benetta C. Andrews, Chairperson of the Liberia Medical and Dental Council, thanked Mr. Hiba Khoury and Mr. Sanjay of the CMDC and B-kay Pharmacy, respectively.
“We highly appreciate their thoughtfulness because we cannot do without Public-Private Partnerships when it comes to health matters. We will always need people to collaborate with us to empower us and enable us to do our work, said Dr. Benetta C. Andrews, Chairperson of the LMDC.
She recalled the functions of the Liberia Medical and Dental Council: registering and licensing all health workers, adjudicating all cases of medical malpractice, and setting standards for healthcare facilities and training institutions in Liberia.
Dr. Andrews calls on every health facility in Liberia to comply with rules and regulations to make sure that the end users, which are the people, get the most benefit from our medical regulations.
“The item brought here today couldn’t have been brought here at a better time. All of this equipment and tools will help facilitate our work. We again ask that you kindly extend our thanks and appreciation to your bosses for this timely donation,” she adds.
