Clinic Administrator of Lofa Medic Services Charged and Court-Bound

Monrovia, Liberia – According to official documents from the Paynesville City Magistrate Court, a writ of arrest was issued against Sam Wolobah, the clinic’s administrator, of Lofa Medic Services Clinic in Neezoe, Jacob Town on charges of manslaughter and impersonating officials. The writ commanded law enforcement officers to arrest Wolobah and bring him before the court to answer for his alleged crimes, as stated in Sections 14.2 & 12.35 of the New Penal Code of Liberia.

Following his arrest on March 19, 2025, Wolobah was formally charged and transferred to the Paynesville City Magistrate Court to face legal proceedings. Prosecutors presented evidence detailing how he falsely posed as a registered and licensed doctor and performed a surgical procedure on Samuel P. Kollie without medical authorization. Kollie, who remained at the facility for observation, was pronounced dead the following day, leading to the charges of manslaughter and impersonation.

The Liberia Medical and Dental Board, acting as a private prosecutor, emphasized that the accused’s actions violated medical regulations and endangered public health. He deliberately misrepresented his qualifications and unauthorized medical interventions directly contributed to Kollie’s death.

According to James-Emmanuel D. Cole, Jr, as the case unfolds, the LMDC and Ministry of Justice vow to remain vigilant in their efforts to uphold medical standards and protect public health. We urge the public to report any suspicious medical practices to prevent further tragedies.

Cole stressed that this case sets a precedent. No one should be allowed to practice medicine without the proper credentials. The public deserves competent and ethical healthcare professionals.

Wolobah, is currently in the Paynesville City Court custody, awaits a formal trial where he could face severe penalties if convicted. Under Liberian law, manslaughter carries a significant prison sentence, and impersonating a medical professional is a serious offense. The court has yet to determine whether Wolobah will be granted bail as proceedings continue.
